Changes to EU Pet Passport Rules - Important Information for UK Travellers
From 22 April, the rules for EU pet passports are expected to change. Pet owners whose main residence is outside the EU will no longer be able to obtain an EU pet passport.
At present, it is uncertain whether these new rules will be applied retrospectively to UK residents who already hold EU pet passports.

If the rules are applied retrospectively, there is a possibility that you could be refused entry into the EU at the Port or Eurotunnel, or potentially refused re-entry into the UK.
If this happens, you may need to obtain an Emergency Animal Health Certificate (AHC) before travelling. The typical cost of an emergency AHC is around £200, and this may cause a significant delay to your journey.

To help reduce uncertainty during this transition period, we at Easy Pet Travel is introducing a service for travellers who already hold EU pet passports and plan to travel via Eurotunnel or Dover Port.

Step 1

Fill Registration Form Below

Before you travel, fill out our form and upload photos of your pet’s existing EU pet passport. Registration fee: £20 per passport.

Step 2

Passport Review

We will carefully review your pet’s passport and confirm, to the best of our knowledge, that it has been issued correctly by your EU vet and that the rabies vaccination details are valid and up to date

Step 3

Prepare a Backup AHC

We will prepare a provisional Animal Health Certificate (AHC) in advance and keep it ready on hold.

Step 4

Emergency Support (If Needed)

If you are unable to travel due to rule changes, simply call our 24/7 emergency number: 03333 442799.
We will: Finalise your AHC immediately and have it ready for collection without delay, so you can continue your journey - only 15 minutes from Eurotunnel

This service gives you peace of mind, ensuring you have a backup plan in place should travel rules change unexpectedly.
